Default How fast are you guys from 0-60 sec.

I would like to buy an 1993 SC400 and mod. it and was wondering how fast I'm going to be from 0-60.I've already had an sc400 1992 and sold it it was running 6.8 sec. all stock. (I used G-tech). So how fast am I going to be after installing the ECU,Torque convertor,Exhaust.

Do you think I can drop it to like 5.8 sec. 0-60

Thanks.

6.8 1992? how many miles were on it? Semes pretty quick for an old year.

I'm not an SC expert (have an LS) but since the SC and LS share the same (V8) engine I don't recall any ECU's available for it. I think there is a piggyback ECU out (made for LS should work on SC) but it didn't gain alot of popularity. Ask retrodrive about it.

There is a torque convertor(dragon 'pink') by Precision industries which claims a cut of half a second off the 0-60 times. Alot of people here have installed it and are VERY happy with it.

As far as exhaust, a few people here have custom 2.75"-3" diameter piping installed. The magnaflow exhaust was talked about for a while, but personally I don't like the sound ( I prefer something really deep like the Greddy) but the magnaflow makes quite a hot rod sound. Not sure about the performance on the exhaust becuase usually the HP gains are in the 5-10HP range.

Check this site about the intake and exhaust mods - very thorough! http://www.users.bigpond.com/pgscott/

lexsc400 has some exhaust video clips of his car here - http://www.intellexual.net/mycarframes.html

I don't want to speak for everyone, this is just what I collected from reading around in here, remember I'm an LS guy )

Weapon-R has an ECU/Intake combo that gives close to 25RWHP. Not too much on low end but a good kick on high end.

The Magnaflow exhaust when paired with straight-thru resonators is almost as quiet as the stock exhaust. lex's exhaust sounds kinda loud because of the pipe size, and he doesn't have anything else on the exhaust back of the cat.

I think 5.8 is possible with those mods and a good launch.

From what I have heard from friends running their G-Tech's simultaneously while making runs down the 1320 track, the G-Tech shows times which are about .1-.2 faster than actual times. MPH were also a little bit higher than actual speed.
