Default One last stab in the dark before I set the SC on fire and walk away for good

Okay so it's been since June. 4 mechanics, several help threads and more replaced parts than I can remember and I'm absolutely at the end of my rope with this car. I'm towing it to a mechanic tonight that swears he can fix it. If he can't I'm done and I'm torching this thing and moving on. I've had enough of it. I don't know what in the process got screwed up with the swap and no one else can figure it out. Anyone plotting the 1JZGTE swap let me be a cautionary tale for you to heed. This swap has left me broke and without a car and I would never never do it again. If this fails then I'm done with fuel injection and computers. I've come to believe they ruined the automotive industry. Carburetors for life

??? Care to share what happened?

Any swapped car will be more of a headache than a stock car. However, I think these cars are really quite reliable even after a motor swap.

It's important to note he had each of those for exactly 14 days.

Basically I was planning on going NA-T, I love the feel of boost. It really is quite addicting. While I was looking at parts a friend of the family that is a certified mechanic convinced me that he could do the swap and it would be easier and cheaper in the long run. So like a fool I trusted the guy to know what he was talking about. I get the engine and the car to the guy and after about 2 months he tells me it's done and to pick it up while he's on vacation(he left while I was at work) I go get the car and it's stuck in limp mode and sounding like hell. Since then I haven't been able to get a shop to touch it. I had the wiring harness redone by Tweaked(come to find out the family friend paid a drug addicted former electrical engineer to do it, he go about a quarter of the way through it and then got arrested for possession) I've replaced numerous parts and developed numerous problems to the point that I've simply given up hope until a few minutes ago when I met the mechanic I'm having work on it. In his yard he had a fully built STI, a 3000GT VR4 he had just fixed and numerous other things that led to believe that unlike the last guy, he actually knows what he's doing. I'm hoping this works, I'm almost sure it will. I just miss my car, the last year has been spent in my moms 03 Civic four door auto and my soul can't take much more of that punishment lol

Yeah i had the ECU rebuilt at Driftmotion and it still didn't work. They tested it on a car there and it worked fine after the rebuild. As for codes i had it checked and none came back. I'm just hoping that this guy is able to get it back to me quickly.
