I had a gold exhaust tip that came with the gold package and wanted to replace it with the chrome tip. A guy at a local body shop said the I could just remove the gold plating. I used some fine steel wool and some goof off and started scrubbing. To my surprise....IT WORKED!
Now my gold package is almost completely gone. I will post pictures at the end of the week. Too busy with midterms.... =(

Niiiice .... now use some chrome polish to make those babies shine.

 

I did the same to mind a few weeks ago Much better, now if only the emblems would work the same way (time to go order some silver ones soon when I get a 97 front).
