Default I need a part # for a 98-00 SC400 drive shaft asap

Particularly the front shaft but a number for the whole shaft would be fine too.

Please and thank you

Edit: drive shaft for a 98-00 SC400

MattStar,
Are you looking for the driveshaft new? If not I have the auto drive shaft left over from my SC400VVTi 5spd swap if you are interested. Let me know.

I don't know if I need one. I'm swapping an a650e 5spd auto from a 98 sc400 into my 93 SC400 and I don't know if the front drive shaft is the same or if I need a 98+ shaft. My new transmission will be here on Tuesday and I want to get a drive shaft ordered soon if I need it so I can finish my swap by next weekend.

If I do end up needing a 98+ drive shaft I'll buy yours from you.

Actually, you do me a huge favor? Could you go measure how long your old front shaft is for me? Cause that's all I really need to know.

Driveshaft from left to right..........short end, bearing and then long end.
Short end starting from flanges where screws go in (not counting large rubber bushing) to right side of bearing (flat side) measures 17.25 inches. Right side of bearing (flat side) to flanges on long end is 30 and 7/8.

I hope that was the info that you wanted.

How are you going to run the 5spd automatic without the VVTi ECU?

Take care,
Luis

It should be the same length but the flange might be different but you can always swap the one from your old tranny over !

Do you know that the ECU controls the tranny and the ECU? the trans doesn't have it's own ECU.

To control the tranny, I'm piggybacking a 99 SC400 ecu on to my ecu. I actually already have it wired up and it is working. All I had to do was jump power, ground, tps, vss, tach, lock-up,neutral safety, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head, from my ecu to the 99 ecu. If everything bolts up and works properly, this swap will have cost me only $250. I also built and transmission controller to allow me to manually shift using the paddles on my is250 steering wheel. I also will be ordering a megasquirt v3 next month which has the ability to control the a650e.
