Yes, currently stranded. My SC400 goes forward in ALL gears, including park, neutral and reverse, then shifts REALLY funny into lower gears.

I don't think a bad fuel ecu would cause a check engine light on, but i'm just taking a shot out in the dark here.
no it was never on before the indecent, it turned on right after the indecent stated happening

Yup, about 8 months ago got the car running finally after two years. Motor blew back in January of this year. Decided to ditch the rebuilds again and spent the amount got a 1j block, forging. Let's hope this solves almost everything lol

My car always gets from A to B

on a flat bed

I'm usually borrowing my parents 1998 Ford Expedition with almost 300,000 miles which is more reliable than my SC. For the most part, I could have probably fixed some of the issues if I had mechanical skills. Usually it has monthly PMS and I have to get it towed to a shop. I've been prescribed anxiety medication because of this car lol.

Only once. Alternator gave out on the 405 luckily I had enough speed to coast down the off ramp to a gas station. Other than that nope. My 93 has 210,XXX and runs better that our 2004 Navigator and our 2006 Volvo Xc90.

Never was stranded with my SC's but my friends had bad luck.

Going to a car show, after an hour long drive on the highway we get to the show, park up and minutes later a fire starts under the hood of my friend's SC! The whole back of the engine and underside of the hood was burnt, burnt bad enough that he decided to scrap it. Sad day.

Another time. I was driving my other friend's SC on the highway going the post speed and all of a sudden the car started to vibrate, lost power, stepping on the gas wouldn't do much at all! Immediately I shifted the car into neutral and let it roll off the highway to a side street. Turns out the crankshaft sensor was shot.

I've been stranded twice. First was the Main ECU. Replaced it, then got stuck again because of a faulty Fuel ECU. Replaced that and no problems since.

Of course, my sc left me stranded because i didnt take care of her as i should. Try not servicing your wife for a long time and see how fast she'll leave you stranded...

Left me stranded once since the battery I had (P680) wasn't strong enough to crank the car over. Installed a better battery and hasn't left me again.

About two weeks ago my starter went bad really bad car wouldn't turn over even with a new battery and all grounds clean. The starter was starting to stick so I kind of knew it was time for a fix but as smart as I was I continued using it until one day at a gas station I filled up started it and the noise wouldn't go away so I shut it off and after that it wouldn't start. Turns out my starter shattered some how and fragments were stuck in the flywheel so it couldn't turn I got charged $400 including starter for the fix.
