New 4.0 Engine..... Can it work?

The Supercharged XKR/XJR is a killer, I drove one a while back and decided right there I had to get more power from my TT. The main difference between the two cars is the gearbox not transmission losses (my auto Soarer showed 15% transmission loss on the dyno so anyone boasting an extrapolated XXXbhp @ 30% transmission loss is deluded)
The Toyota ECT is far superior to the Jag box but has a torque reduction system to reduce "transmission shock" and wheelspin on the gear changes this kills the 0-60 times so an auto V8 SC even at 400bhp is not going to beat the 5.3sec of the later Jags.
A transmission kit and T/C would help to address the balance or a six speed from a Supra but a manual box makes the Soarer feel horrid IMNSFHO.

OMG don't do it man and $6500 is no where near enough. a new engine and tranny alone will cost you more than that. Then u have to factor in R&D. AND the cost of you SC will drop to the ground!
a ford engine in a Lexus is just crazy, supercharge the Lex V8 and u can get the same or more HP. The Lexus V8 is superior to a lot of other V8s out there and i wouldn't trade it for a ford engine. i mean trade a Lexus engine, the manufacturer that has led the industry in reliablity and build quality for like 5 years in a row for a car maker that isn't in the top 5 (last time i checked).
this is truly one of the worst ideas i have heard, not to hurt anyones feelings but seriously. It is just shocking to me.
Sorry got a little carried away but it is truly shocking.

I don't think that just becuase ford bought Jag.. means that they changed the engine that much. im sure its the same people from jag making and researching the Engines etc..
Hell Ford now owns ASTON MARTIN .. and those cars are amazing.. I don't think they change the cars that much
But i could be wrong

Lets just imagine for one moment that I want to get rid of my 30 series Soarer (SC) and I actually liked the new SC430 (I dont it's hideous), so £55k worth of sports car is now sitting outside my front door.
Then my pal with his 5 year old, 4 door, 2 ton, Jag saloon car destroys me on the road I would be asking some questions of Mr Toyota;
If my SC430 is the most tecnologically advanced vehicle you have ever built why is it a full second slower to 60mph than an old 2ton Jag saloon car?
We know the 1UZ V8 engine can easily produce more than 500bhp so why was your top 2002 sports model released with a measly 282bhp?
Can I have my money back please?
Lexus are selling into the high end with Mercedes & Jaguar (I feel BMW got left behind a while back), they have astonishing build quality & reliability but 282bhp does not cut it in this company. S'Low Rider has a theory that the GS based chassis could not handle any more power, I am not so sure. I will be sticking with the TT for a while longer, maybe someone will send me a transmission kit and T/C for Xmas.
