speedometer not working but rpm works, sc400
I have a 94 sc400 that was given to me as a gift, but i cant really go all out on it because its my second project car. The thing is that the speedo doesnt work and i have read its a common issue. I read that banging on the dash might make it work , but i tried and it didnt work. I didnt bang too hard either.
The thing is that my rpm meter works but my speedometer doesnt, is it possible to switch out the needle motors so that i can have a working speedometer and broken rpm gauge or no? I rather do that and fix the rpm guage down the road. Should i just try looking for a motor and replace it myself or should a new cluster be better? Thanks for any help guys

Haha yeah i know. So if i get a new cluster does it have to be the same year? Does it have to be from an sc4 or can it be from an sc3?
Also, i dont know how it works, but if i get a new cluster will the new cluster show the mileage from the previous sc it was into or will it should the current mileage?
