Default problem removing emblems

I read in a past thread that the only emblems with peg holes in them on the back of an sc400 were the 'sc400' logo and the front L logo on the nose. Here is a quote from that FAQ:

5) Q-How do I take off the emblems on my car?
A-The front emblem is held on by three nuts on the back. The rear Lexus emblem on the trunk lid is pried off with a tape covered chisel. The "Lexus" emblem on the back is also pried off with a tape covered chisel. The SC300,SC400 emblem is held on by 3 nuts on the back.

I found, to my surprise, that my rear L emblem is indeed held on by 3 pegs, whereas this implies that it can be merely pried off. Do all the emblems have pegs, or what? There are no shops near me that will shave the emblems and smooth over the peg holes - what should I do? Are there any emblems out there such as a T logo that will cover up these peg holes?

thats strange... Any Autobody shop should be able to do this. They probably don't want to bother matching the paint.... could be a pain in the you know what.

thats really odd, with all the body shops out there, someone ought to be able to do it....its not an awful pain, you could ask somebody to fill it then go to a paint place and have them paint it.....just ideas....but to answer your question, somebody told me once that the t-emblem would fit....it was a long time ago, and I dont know if they knew what they were talking about, as i was very new to the scene.

try doing another search for removing the emblems. Just heat them up w/ a hair dryer, and they should peel right off. BTW: All the emblem have "pegs" on them and none r "bolted" on (they r all on there w/ glue)

well yea, i started to remove the rear L logo and saw that it had pegs so i glued it back in place. the only place that is willing to do the emblem work at all is bruce's super body shop, and they told me i would have to get the whole panel painted, which would cost me $200 per panel, so we're talking $600 just for shaving emblems, which is absolutely ridiculous. i called maaco, elite image, and a whole bunch of other places around richmond and nobody could tell me who would do it. im going to call the toyota dealership and see if the T logo is the same size as the L logo, and if so ill just replace the L logos with that. I already have a TRD logo and SOARER logo to cover up the back with, but how lame would "L SOARER" look :/

I agree, I think the "L" with the "SOARER" looks sweet. If you put on a SOARER emblem with a SC300 emblem then thats lame.
