That gap doesnt look any larger than stock to me, do you have a tire size with a sidewall smaller than stock to make the overall size of the wheel equal to a 16 on 225/55?

I think the gap can be compensated with running a size larger taller tire for the time being. It might even help with the ride driveability and improve overall feel. Not for handling purposes. This is only a temp fix until you decide on what and how low you want to lower your car. I personally have 19's with Esplier springs and like the overall look without losing the feel too much.

245/40 will make the larger 18" wheel equal overall to a stock 225/55/16 wheel. Does anyone have 245/40/18's on their car??

Im looking for the 5 spoke ones, that look like the TT wheels, but in silver. But seeing these recent pictures on here makes me think stock suspension will be fine, I think the first people had too short of a sidewall on their tires.

245/45 all around on 18 x 8 " wheels.

I just did an online tire size calculator and to get a match (within .1% difference) I need to use 245/40-18. is a side wall of 40 going to be too short and look like a 4x4? The overall diameter would be the same.

20's do look good. but u are pushing it when that size. u often have to drop it so low that drivability suffers in the long run.
My only problem with 19's and 20's are the pathetic looking rotors behind them, unless you do a BBK on all fours. Also, 19 tires will be more expensive since they are a less common size, something to think about. Although I do agree with you, 19's do fill out better, but for practical purposes, I think 18's are the easiest way to go and look great, plus you dont have to worry about rolling fenders.
