Michelin Pilot Exalto performance
I have had these tires for 5 or 6 years. I bought them for their good rep as a all season tire and their cornering performance. I have taken a slightly banked on ramp from one freeway to another freeway that is posted 35 MPH at 70 MPH. It is mildly banked, but still. Not a twitch or hint of any bad manners. At 140 they have good traction and I can change lanes abruptly without flourish. Great tires....except for one thing...my ride is extremely harsh in city chuck holes or broken pavement. This may be all the Supra II Turbo suspension by Bilstien upgrade but I doubt it. The Supra springs are stiffer by not all that much...I'm told. I have never felt the ride even remotely to the comfort level the SC should have. While I am getting older, I was disappointed in the ride quality even 6 years ago when I was 64. Now I am ready to chuck the entire affair and start over with KYB GR2s and stock springs and another tire.
QUESTION: What do yu all find the performance of the Mich Pilot Exalto to be in terms of a Sport Lurury tire. I'm looking at 6 or 8 hundred outlay and I would like some advice and reports.
Thank you all.
John
