Sc300 got sandwiched :(
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but.......
Last week I woke up to move my car for street cleaning (if you live in NYC you know about this headache)........while driving down my street a lady backs out her driveway and hits my passenger side fender sandwiching me between her and a tractor trailor. The damage isn't too severe but insurance wants to write the car off and I don't want them too but I do not have the funds to fix this right now.... Just spent 2k putting in a new motor... I've spent 3500 on repairs within a year and payed 1200 for it Im already 4700 $ in What would you do?
Opinions greatly apreciated!

Well its her insurance that should pay for it. The car will be a total loss, what you do is, the adjuster will come out, and call you back saying its a total loss, he then will say it is worth X amount of dollars, you then say OK, I would like to buy back the car at salvage cost. YOu buy it back for probaly couple hundred bucks and they send you a big fat check. I love it.

Sucks indeed. When you have a car that treats you right and feels like an old friend, it can be an absolute tragedy to see her totaled.
Tell the adjuster you expect to be compensated for your engine upgrade, or something like that. My parents had an old Volvo that had just been serviced and then some dumbglass pulled right out of a parking lot and sent my mom into another car. She raised bloody hell and they split the difference with her, just to shut her up.
Trust me, I've worked in insurance before. You don't want a claim open forever, and sometimes if you can word it just right- you can sell it to them. It's worth a shot, anyway.
Then buy it back. You might actually get close to where you were before it all started.
