I am glad they didn't go with the center tail light style.

That hurts my feelings. They build a LFA then design this. Come on Lexus... Lets get for real..

Look at those curves! Is that the new cement color?

That prototype was designed around 1990.

Looks more like a concept car for the Buick Riviera or Park Avenue coupe.

Thankfully Lexus tweaked it heavily before relase.

looks so much better with the added high beam lights in the bumper.
cant believe people actually remove them when they go custom body kit. makes the car looks gross

I remember seeing this in a video of the making of the SC that I posted long ago.

this is one of the rarer times in automotive history when a sports coupe concept is actually improved upon by production release.

in fact, it's in great part of the chief engineer at the time (Mr. Okada) that we have such a beautiful end product. the design team showed him this concept and he was pissed about it, but then once they tweaked it for production, he fell in love. he had a great discerning taste for what he wanted this car to be. let's all applaud him for telling his designers to get their ***** together. lol. :P

heres a link to the thread i posted years ago on this subject:

and if you're lazier, here's just the specific documentary vid:

also, I just have to say, I don't hate the tails so much on the concept. I can see the potential there. ah well, I've always loved me some bootys with nice and simple two piece tails (integras, 240 coupes, scs, etc, all being car I've owned. coincidence? I think not.)

Looks like an old Lincoln MKIII from the back. Strange.

It's not too terrible, but I'm glad they either listened to the focus group or let the artists run with it. Come to think of it, this car might be one of the last ones ever produced where the artists' input actually came through on the finished product.

Like they told the accountants to take a hike or something. Politely, of course- they were Japanese. A Japanese individual will take you apart piece by piece, but at least they'll be respectful and polite about it.
