is it possible to take the gold plating off of my stock emblems? if so, are they chrome underneath or will they be flat black or something? i have some watch polish that has been known to strip gold plating without a problem...was wondering if this would be a good way about doing it as I read that it has been done to gold exhausts on our cars.

kyle, I am not 100% sure what they are underneath the gold, but i do remember that when my gold emblems were fading (badly), they were not pretty underneath. The color was more of a silver but w/ a gold tint to it. I would just tell you to either debadge ur SC, or go out and buy some chrome or black pearl emblems (depends on the color of ur SC). I know that when i replaced my gold ones w/ the chrome ones (i have a pearl white SC), the appearance of my car was amazing. That possible could be one of the best mods you could ever do to your car.

My gold emblems in the back are starting to fade a bit too and under it its pretty muich silver with a hint of gold. I guess if you really want to replace them u can try that cleaner and try to strip the gold and see if it works out otherwise I was quoted $16 for a crome L emblem and I'm assuming the other 2 wont be too much more. So for like $64 you can probably replace all your eblems with crome ones from BMA.
