About to get an SC400!
So I'm about to trade my Audi A4 for a 1992 Lexus SC400 with 150K miles and I would love some help. First of all, the seat is electric and it's stuck all the way back. There's no response from it at all. What could this be? The alternator has been tested and is good. And the window switches, from the drivers side, you can't roll down the passenger side unless you do it from the passenger side. Could all of this be fuse related? I would really appreciate any help!

So what? At least you (hopefully) know what problems your Audi has. An SC400 with electrical gremlins could run the potential of being a huge money pit, and you don't know what other problems that car has. I would just wait.

Could the electrical problems really be that persistent? The SC has new tires, decent miles(150k) and a new ac compressor. The body is also super clean and along with the interior. My Audi has 140K miles and needs several things. It about evens up. I appreciate you guys opening my eyes. Any help and guidance is appreciated greatly!

i would stay away from any car that has electrical issues SC or not and as everyone else said SC's can be become money pits when electrical is the issue which in turn would make you give up on the car before you even get started on it.
side note be more concerned with how well the car is versus the mileage 400's can go well beyond the 200k mark and still run like a champ

I can't thank you guys enough! So what do you guys suggest? Figure what's wrong with the seat, or move on? This must be pretty bad. The owner hasn't really looked into it, I mean it could be something completely NOT electrical at all.

I know this a SC300, not a SC400, but I wouldn't mind settling for something like this. 97+ body style is better looking anyway. Most people have a tendency to want to convert there 93-96 to a 97+ and also it's black on black. Mileage is a little high, but look on the bright side, it's a Toyota. That just knocked off another 30k miles (figure of speech)

I wish I hadn't started on my project, because I would have bought this instead.
By the way, I am not associated with this guy or whatsoever. I just happen to be searching for SCxxx to see whats out there around my town.

Really what my question is, should I trade? I didn't plan to sell the Audi unless I could do a straight trade. It's a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T, Quattro, Manual with 139K miles. Needs a front wheel bearing, and other cosmetic things here and there. Then the Lexus has that seat issue, and window issue which isn't a big deal at all.

Thank you guys for all the guidance! I'll be seeing it today and I'll post up how it goes. I know my car is manual, but I drive often on business and make a lot of calls while driving, so an auto sounds nice.

So, I saw the Lexus yesterday and WOW. The car is in immaculate condition inside and out. The carfax is also super clean. The only problem I noticed was the seat problem, that I formentioned. It had a ton of power and shifted like it was new.
