Install day part 2: Hermosa's car
Today we spent a good 14 hours installing springs, struts, and bushings into Hermosa's SC. We decided that it'd be easier if we ripped the entire axle out and work with it on the ground...

JP! But it really did take a good 14 hours.... damn poly bushings, damn rusted studs!
So to give all your DIYers an idea of how it's done. We had to drop the lower control arm to free up the strut spring assembly...

that looks great!
are those 18's?
also, is the KYB adjustable for height, or just for damping/rebound?
also, is the kYB application only for the supra springs?
just want to be prepared for when I get my 19's

I would like to express thanks to PCMW(Matt) and Lex400sc(Rich) for helping me with this install. Especially Rich for sticking in there until 2AM. The worst part was dealing with the bushings on the control arm. I am buying a new left control arm to replace the one with the aftermarket bushings. The bushings consumed ALL the time. That was the extra 10 hours.

Nice job!
Bushings seem to be the most common problem with Soarers/SC's. There's a guy in Australia that has manufactured a set of exact clone bushes of the originals fitted to Soarers/SC's, with no creak/squeak noises, smooth ride etc.

Great looking cars - good pics too!
Why the new control arm? - you didn't say.
I had the suspension workshop air chisel out my worn bushes and refit with the new silent rubber bushes with shock control slots - took them 5 hours.

That's a real gutsy effort removing the whole suspension axle etc - to stuff!
