Thanks Parker. I'm still writing this one off as a failed experiment.

Dude, nice try though! I thought you did a pretty damn good job with the LED's, and even though it was a "failed" experiment, this is exactly what we need, as some day someone will figure out a good way to fix the stock needles.

Thanks again for all your effort!

its all about adding counter weights on the other end of needle! i want to do this. but i think its easier to pay someone 25 bux per needle and get some kind of warranty

OK... I'm not one who gives up easily.

I'm not sure if I'll have time today, but the needles look bad because of the gaps between the LED's. This morning I tried folding the contacts up so that I can not only get them closer together, but I can solder them using less solder and reducing the overall weight. We'll see how it goes...

In other news and completely unrelated to this thread or any Lexus, I got my V10 swapped F150 to pass smog yesterday! Woohoo! Sorry, I just had to tell the world...

Much happier with how this looks, and now the long needle holds 12 LED's. I don't know if I'll have time to test in car.

Am I allowed to go off-topic in my own thread?

With her ears folded back, she does look like a Rat Terrier, but she's actually a pure bred Jack Russel. She also has a half sister from a Shih Tzu. We decided that makes her a Jack Shiht.

She jumped in my first pic of NeedleV2

Wow, from his coat/fine hair white with black spots, all the markings of a Rat Terrier.

That one looks really good! I don't know a lot about lighting, but I wonder if the LED's can be removed from the plastic "casings" for further weight loss?
