Default messing with interior lmk what you guys think

hey guys i got a little bored of my car not running atm, so i decided to mess with the interior. We all know black interior is pricey and hard to get a hold of so i just went the cheap way. i started small to see how it would turn out, and if i liked it i could move onto more pieces and maby eventualy paint most of the interior. gave each piece 3 coats.

i spent 7 bucks for the vinyl paint and 1 dollar for the all purpose paint that i used on plastics, i chose flat black on both cans.

im sure sure how long itl last , but for the most id say its on there preety good, i scatched the vinyl paint and nothing hapnd, wasnt super strong thought so im not sure if a stronger scratch would rip through, as for the plastic pieces it did remove it after a scratch but that was the first coat that rly wasnt dry yet lol, so after the 3 coats and a full day to set in im sure itl have much better bond onto it.

so heres the outcome, ive not seen black interior in person, but how do u think this matches to the orignial?

(sorry for the quality i know its a pos but at least its visable lol)

(on the steering wheel, the little gummy stuff is just tape, it came off lol)

lmk what you guys think

thanks

I hope that stuff lasts.... I had real bad experience with "interior paint". I had a pro paint some stuff on my mom's old car and it was super sticky after a few days and came off with just wiping it with a damp MF towel...

looks good but i doubt it will last especially on the steering wheel, being that hands are always rubbing on it

i just put it all back together, when u scartch the plastic it turns shiney but dosnt come off, so at least its still black lol, as for the dam vinyl pant, if u do scatch it with enough strength it will peel off. i scartched the peice were the phone bottons go, little scartches but not alot. might try the all purpose on the steering wheel is more peels off and see what happns lol.

as for the looks i think its a to pale compared to original black. so this was just a little test lol,

il be using sem now after i start to completly do my intereior.

heres the pics if anyones interested.

I'd fear painting pieces that are going to be heavily touched like the steering wheel and arm rest etc etc. Looks good otherwise I just wonder how long it will last.

It never lasts long ESP on areas where you constantly touch.

I used SEM paint on the steering wheel before and it didnt last long at all. I am a very clean non greasy type guy as well. I ended finding a very good condition used oem black steering wheel on here. I did choose the the airbag painted in SEM, so far so good. If you use SEM, prep it right, and it might last a long time.. Best of luck to you.

ya i doubt itl hold, im hoping that the plastic at least holds, since most of the areas dont get touched.
but ya il be doing a mix of sem and original black, paint all panels that dont come into contact often, dash, consol, trims, panels, and get original black steering wheel, arm rest shift ****, ebrake. as for seats il be upgrading in the future lol. thanks guys
