Default Considering to buy 1993 SC 400 - Have question

I own a 1999 SC 300. I have an opportunity to purchase a 1993 SC 400 with 189,000 miles. Interier decent, Body has some damage (hit a deer - dent on front right fender. Overall car in good shape. Runs great. Engine well maintained. Has new tires, auto start and heated seats (I live in NE - would come in handy). I beleive this would be a good second car to help me maintain my 99 - which only has 60,000 miles. SC 400 is going for $2,000. Your thoughts?

buy it.

I got my '93 400 for $2200 and it sounds like it was in worse shape. 189k is still OK, in my opinion. mine now has 180. I had to do lots of interior work and some minor fuel system work to get mine running great.

I would probably ask less then 2,000. Around me sc400's with 80-90k go for 3500.

Go find another car you'd want to own for under $2k. Seriously. Do you have any idea what kind of JUNK you buy below $2k? $75 gets you a fender on ebay, painted and ready to bolt on.

On a 20 year old car the odometer reading means nothing. My car also has 189k miles and the compression numbers are those of a new car. The 1UZ is bulletproof.

Buy it. I have $2k into my car and it'll probably take me another $1k to get it where I want it.

Seems like a good deal but I would make an offer, just feel for where the seller is, i picked up my 93 sc400 for $800 it has 296k or 183/184miles, had a dent on the front right fender and needed a tune up, and lots of TLC. Didn't mind it though he was asking 2800, dropped it to 1000 then we offered 800 he took it, he's happy, i'm happy everyone won lol

Go for it!
For an SC400, 189,000 is not much!

Default Thanks for input.

Will be buying. Trust the owner. He is the one I purchased the 1999 SC 300. Takes great care of his cars. Just wanted a feel for how long I should expect the car to last.

Hope you get the best of your car

If you take care of your car, which I assume you will, the car will last you a quite a while. No worries dude.
