SC- 1st Gen (1992-2000)

Have a sc400 dropped it and now my engine harness is exposing

Default Have a sc400 dropped it and now my engine harness is exposing

I changed my alternator and battery i dropped my car and like a dummy i didnt relocate the harness i was driving today and my trac abs light came on my power steering got stiff so i **** the car off tryed starting it bacc nd it jus start clicking the battery was a brand new optima and alternator is 2 months old i looked under the driver side fender and my wires are exposed...would that cause it?? Somebody please help

yes it sounds like uve ripped into your wiring harness.

i say look at your harness and repair all yourexposed wiring and go from there

are you really wondering why the wires that are in your fender well have been chewed up by your tire? uhh you just lowered your car. that is why.

@poorsupra i know why it chewed up i was just wondering if their is wires on that harness that controls the alternator..im gonna check it out later when it gets lil cooler outside and is their a easy way of relocating the harness??

Yes it is a lil to hot but easiest way is to unplug the connectors and route it through inside of engine bay in car without cutting. If I find pics of my car I'll post there's a link floating around here

maybe its just me but relocating the harness doesnt look as easy as people say.

I think im going to rivet in or bolt some sheet metal over the harness instead of relocating it, i dont see how the tire will be able to penetrate that.

Pulling out plugs, cutting wires, relocating this and that ...no thanks.

I was thinking the same thing just put sheet metal but then i didnt wanna sound like an idiot but that sounds better then cutting it the unplugg sounds a lil easier tho

Easier to unplug it, fixed exposed wires at.different places to avoid a bunch of crap all together, then pull it tight, the run back the engine compartment .. if you dont pull it tight, it might not fit back to the plug ins. just a thought.

its not that hard to do took me about an hour to do it an thats including fixing the wires my tire chewed up

I relocated my harness higher up in the fender this morning in 20 minutes.......didn't unplug a single thing. Check the pictures here....
