Default 97+ vs. 92-96 trunks. Are the spoiler holes the same?

Hey,

I am wondering, are the factory spoiler holes in the trunk at the same location for the 97+ spoiler and the older 92-96 spoilers? Or are the trunks and hole location different?

Trying to see if I can just get a 92 spoiler and it will mount with no mods in the 97+ trunk that had factory spoiler. Thanks

If you're mounting a 92-96 spoiler on a 97-00 trunk you'll need to create a template to line it up properly & drill holes. The holes are not the same but it lines up on the underside of the trunk where you'll need to secure the spoiler with nuts. Did it to mine because the 92-96 spoiler flows better with the SC body Good luck

Well I am definitely glad I asked first. I thought the holes would be the same. I'd rather not butcher my trunk, so I'll just wait for a complete trunk and spoiler to pop up.... preferably painted platinum silver which would be a long shot... Anyone got one willing to trade for a 97+? My trunk is mint, not a scratch, not a single swirl mark, never been repainted nothing.

If butchering the trunk is scaring you then take it to a professional like I did. I paid $40 to have mine mounted.

Who's going to notice what's under the spoiler lol I don't think anyone is going to lift up the spoiler to see anything but I understand. The way I did it is way cheaper & finding a platinum silver trunk with spoiler is like asking for black interior to be sold for $100 lol. Good luck though
