Default Interior Swap with pics

First I want to give a MAJOR THANKS to Quicksc4. He helped me a ton through PM. So thanks! Also all of the work here was done by reading the DIY stickies and just having experience with this stuff. So thanks to the whole community!!

So I just bought this busted sc300 for $1400. Engine ran bad, interior was shot, and it has a few dents. I am going to restore this about the same way I did my 300zx. So far I have done all the intake gaskets, PCV vaulve, fixed the injector clips, new spark plugs, fixed coolant leak, and got new sleeves for the intake. All of this was about $100 in parts and 5 hours in a friends garage.

Yesterday I came across a 2000 SC300 being parted out by the nicest man ever (he was swapping engines into his). I got a FANTASTIC deal on the parts. The stuff still needs a good cleaning but it's a VAST improvement over the old. I started about 4p.m. today and was done by 8p.m.

New seats (front and back with no rips)
New center console with a good arm rest (and in dash cup holder)
New A/C control unit (mine was bleeding)
Pretty good carpet 7/10
Gated shifter
New cup holder (near arm rest)
New passenger door panels
New rear side panels (lower)

And the grand total for all of this......$360 delivered to my apartment (he offered to use his truck so I gave him $10 for gas as he refused to take more). It was about a 2 mile drive. It was one hell of a deal, I was going to buy his wheels but he was missing one (still might pick them up tomorrow) and he JUST sold his 2000 rear tails before I got there. Anyway enough jibber jabber onto the pics and the beginning of the slow slow project.

The new(ish) parts

OLD interior

New rear tops..million times better no tears.

rear bottom and part of the new carpet

Non bleeding AC control

New center console going in(it's greasy but will clean up fine I hope!

Buttoning it all back up

And the gated shifter...Might sell not sure yet.

Hope you guys get some motivation to work on your cars from this!
I kept the original cup holder (works fine) and the plastic console surrounding (needs new volume and ac ****). If someone wants to pay for shipping you can have them. No cracks, in good shape.

Hey keep it coming bro! One thing I would suggest. I would add a some type of support to the back of the window trim-this will help it last longer, especially since they're notorious for cracking and breaking.

Yeah the prices were great. It's not the best stuff but it only had 60k miles on it. And about 100000 times better than the crap from my car. I'm going to detail it when I'm not so tired to get the greasy hand prints off of everything.

What do you mean exactly? I am new to this car so I am still learning. Is there something I can buy or just rig it up? Any links to threads with it? Thanks!

Edit: You mean the front window trim? I read that post wrong I think the first time. But my question still stands, any thread to see what others have done? lol! thanks.

It's something that you could just rig up. I think I remember Perry in LA... had a write up on it. It was a small wood support piece. Wait one...I'll see if I can find it, and post it in this thread.

Hey bro, here's the link I was talking about: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/mai...ble-fixes.html (scroll down, you'll see what a few CL members have used).

Nice transformation.

It looks like a cheetah got pissed when a hot cup of coffee spilled in it's lap and it went ape **** on your interior.

Way mo better than before. Look like they let loose a saber tooth tiger inside on the seats. Thats a great deal on the interior parts. And I thought this was going to be another SEM black landau transformation. lol

Looks good!
