Default Which Upgrades?

Hey guys i have a 93' SC but its an automatic so I was wondering what type of engine upgrades you think would benefit the car most. So far ive mostly done exterior work and other things such as rims, tints, subs, new tailights, etc. The only engine type stuff thats been done to my car is a Injen cold air intake and new mufflers. I dont have like the 5k or 8k whatever for a twin turbo. What can I do to add decent HP for maybe 1-2k?

Save money for NA-T. Bolt ons do nothing for the NA 2J unfortunately.

I know this sounds stupid but what is NA-T? And how much is it?

There is a ton, I mean a TON of info on what a NA-T is on this forum, but its just taking the naturally aspirated 2JZ (NA) and installing a turbo (T)

The first question you should ask yourself is not which upgrades to install but what sources are there to get me familiarized with the types of mods for your car.

this forum has a great source and an even better group of guys with more knowledge than God to boot.

for beginners, check out this SC bible intellexual.

nice car and happy modding.

As the other posters have stated, NA power in a 2JZGE is a losing battle. You've done all you can in that department.

Doing a proper NA-T will start to cost near what a JDM 2JZGTE swap will cost although there is no one correct way to do it. A plain-jane stock 1JZGTE twin turbo swap won't be 2k total but will be less than the best NA-T setup.

It will be more cash if you want to get into a manual swap.

If you don't want to go down that route now, either save or focus on the other things you'll need depending on the power you eventually want or how you intend to drive the car: a good suspension, LS400 brake calipers up front, new lower control arms, steering rack bushings, and anything else that helps with vehicle control.

Whatever you decide to do. just do the maintenance first. Thats the life of the engine!

Save up and go for the 1Jz swap. Definitely worth it. Then you can slowly upgrade the 1jz. Right now everything on mine is stock and it still runs like a BEAST. Im saving up for a better exhaust system, but after that Im getting a boost cut defender so I can turn the boost up a lil.. just a tIny pinch.. I never was in it for the power. I accidently bought an sc with a 1jz in it It found me
