I just got my battery back, and it's charging fine at 12.98 volts. That leaves me with the alternator. I'm gonna remove it now and get it tested.

Does the alternator connector(not the alternator wire that goes to the battery) make a difference or is it just a sensor? I noticed that the 3 wires of the connector have their insulation completely stripped compared to how it was before.

Thanks Mark, don't worry, I've replaced my alternator last year and its got a lifetime warranty on it. Autozone will have my new alternator by Thursday. Although I still need to get it tested and it needs to fail for Autozone to replace it under warranty.

get in your driver side footwell and check the top left fuse marked 7.5 amp

it is the control sense fuse for the alt sensing and just helped a buddy fix his alt issue that way.

I had this same problem. The fix was the under drive pulley I think that's what it's called it's the pulley that attaches to your crank shaft. The pulley has a rubber layer in between the metal pieces that over time separate and toy and only see it if it's taken off and inspected properly. Try this based on your symptoms it's most likely that. Hope this helps.

I just got my alt tested. It failed twice. It didn't have any signs of oil on its casing, but soon as I pulled it out, I shined the inside with my flashlight and it was soaked with oil inside. Now I gotta fix that frigging camshaft seal after I fix the alt.

Tell me about it.

Talking about cam seals, can anybody link me a DIY for that? And give me advice what I need to prepare for and what to change while I'm in there? Thanks CL. CL have been a great help on everything, I would've bought a new battery immediately if poorsupra and every other member didn't take their time to advice me on this.

hey kingphillip i just went through is 3 days ago, you need an alternator my friend.

My abs also went on and the car as bogin down and stalling out, interior lights dimmin etc...

You have th exact same symptoms as me, i just got my car back this morning and it is perfectly fine after alternator change.

(edit) sorry looks like u already figured it out ---if you need a replacement alt I got mine for $130.00 canadian wth a 3 year warantee, it is an OEM alt 3 times less then the dealer is charging.
