Default Garage opener conversion

Okay,

Who here has transplanted a newer visor in an earlier SC? Manaray? What did it cost and how easy was it to do?

Come on guys - someone had to have done it. I assume it runs off of the power already in place for the mirrors. This should be plug and play - but it would be nice to hear from someone who has done it.

Default cool

I would like to do this too.
When I get me manuals, I'll take them to the lexus dealership and see their newer manuals to see what it would take.

Since my vanity light stays on all the time, and I had to take the fuse out, I too, would be interested in the conversion.

It is a near drop in conversion...the power can be had from the light's power...cost is NOT cheap though...I think it was like $500+ for that part.

i've done it. the home link parts are very expensive so i used a opener that i bought from brookstone or sharper image. it is a keychain so it is about half the size of the homelink. I painted it khaki color to match the rest of the interior. Then i removed the back of it and attached it to the sunvisor. It works great, looks just as good, if not better than, the homelink, and can control 2 doors. I will post pictures of it when i get a new digital camera.

ryan,
please post your pics. I think that idea is great. I may do that myself. My opener is a big one and i keep it in the center console since its so big. You can imagine that the center console is not the best place either.....

Pics would be awesome, I keep mine in the driver map pocket on the door... easy to push, just throw my hand down there and search for it, and press the button. If you have a big one, see if you can get a smaller one from ebay or something... good investment, plus you might need the smaller one to install like Ryan did.

the entire thing cost less than $50. it is an excellent alternative to buying the homelink parts which will cost you a couple hundred bucks easily. And it looks just as good. I will post picks and soon as i get another digital camera (broke my last one).
