Help! Heater Promblem 92SC400?
#16
My SC300 was not putting out any heat here in Florida on a 60 to 65 deg. night. Did some trouble shooting to no avail.. When the temperature dropped below 60 one morning, the heat worked fine. You may want to try chilling the outside temp. sensor located to the right lower front of the radiator and visible through the grill from the front to see if the heat comes on. A little bag of ice should do the trick for chilling. Could be that the calibration is off or contacts are corroded. Just a guess.

I'm serious guys, try topping off the coolant before anyone buys anything. Everyone has some spare coolant lying around, if not the distilled water is only .59 cents per gallon.
My coolant appeared completely full when I had the same problem. I added maybe 2 oz. of coolant and--> voila! Heater worked again. About 2 years passed, same problem.......coolant Appears completely full, top it off anyaway, again - Heater is working fine. I can't explain why adding so little coolant can solve such a big problem; but its worh a shot.

I'm gonna go ahead and second this. I had the same problem with my heater and all it needed was coolant. Be careful about taking it to a shop because alot of shops are just trying to make money by selling you parts you don't need.

Is there a special trick to getting all of the air out of the system? I have replaced everything and checked that the VSV is actually working but still have the vaccum on the canister it self. NO HEAT! I have tried to feel as best I can to see that the hoses going into and out of the VSV have the same pressure and by fingertip they do and both get equally as hot.
I know that is an open invitation for flaming but I need some help here too!

turn on the car and let it warm up and take off the radiator cap and loosen the bleeder valve and leave it open until cooant starts spitting out of the bleeder valve ( on top of the thermostat housing i think) then close the bleeder valve. shut off the car and top off fluid then pray that you will have heat haha
