Agreed.

However, he wanted like 350whp, which is very doable with an NA-T setup... esp buying used quality parts like manifolds exhaust, downpipes, etc

500 HP 2j swap is definitely not going to happen with $5k, BUT, you can still get around 350ish hp with a 2j swap.. stock twins, exhaust, boost cut, turn up the boost and that should be enough for what your looking for. I've seen too many NA-T's turn into a money pit (when people are trying to build a lot of power). Also, I think a swap will be more reliable than NA-T (not hating on the NA-T's; I wouldnt try "creating" a turbo engine because I can buy one already made the way its supposed to be made)

I don't want 500hp. 350 is enough for me.

I don't want to do an NA-T as my engine is pretty damn beat and I can get a 2jzgte shipped to a garage for like 2k.

I can go over 5k if I need to, but that's what I'm hoping to stay under through creative purchasing and finding a sympathetic mechanic.

I don't need 500hp, I drive aggressively enough with 200.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but some of us like our SCs enough to make it fast. If you don't like it that much then I don't blame you if you want another car :\

I wouldnt go with a 03
No nav and the first year had tons of issues

Unless your mechanically inclined, youre going to spend a lot of $$$
plus all e class gas tanks are defective since they leak and emit gas fumes into the cabin when full.
Under federal investigation as we speak.

Where in Jersey? (Your info says Maryland).
'Cus if you're not too far over the bridge from Philly, then hit up Supra Dr.
He's got a shop here in PA, and does Supra's & SC's year round; his own SC's a GTE w/ crazy-power...

Seems like you'd be a great candidate for an isf. I have looked at every car you mentioned. Watched the YouTube video reviews and read the car mag articles too. I used to have an NSX and loved it. However, it wasn't practical and though I didn't need it to be as I had and have other vehicles that were practical, I found I was not drivin it very often so I sold it and bought a maserati. Now I am selling that car. I thought I could get myself comfortable with the potential repair costs, but I think about how much it would bug me if I have to drop $5,000 for a clutch or some similarly priced repair. The viper is cool but also entirely impractical and the AMG cars are exotic car expensive to maintain. Therefore, until I can pull the trigger on a new exotic that has a warranty, I'm going to get an isf and maybe I will trade that in a CTS-V sometime after that.

Nice username haha
Have you looked into 1j swaps or are you just sticking to the the 2j?

Anyway man just keep your sc, swap it, and love it.

Have you already done much work to your SC in the form of suspension, tires, brakes, rear differential, bolstered seats, etc? Do you want a manual transmission or are you fine with an automatic?

Even without turbos these can be fun cars with all of those bits of the car sorted out but for real power in the 300-400hp range you are looking at a 1JZ-GTE twin turbo swap at the cheapest.
