Wish Me Luck
Went to my friend's warehouse yesterday and noticed a black SC400 park in his warehouse. I asked aobut it and he said its being stored by the trustee of the car. My friend said the trustee want $3,000 for it.
The car is completely stock with 170,000 miles. Few very minor dings and background instructment light is out. Otherwise its in great condition. I test drove it and loved it. Just like my LS with better handling.
This morning is wrote a formal offer for $2,999. I hope to hear from him soon. Wish me luck.
Once i get the car, i will start another project again. This time, it will be a single Turbo.

Single Turbo for the SC400 in the plan for the future. SC400 have a lot of room. Especially front bumper area and between the engine and the radiator. A lot of potential. How does a ceramic ball bearing T76 sound? Of course with built motor.
I am not sure why i offer him one penny below what he ask for. Maybe my offer will stand out? LOL

That's a hell of a price. I would run a carfax first just to make sure it wasn't a salvage tille that was repaired. It only costs a few bucks and could save you a lot.

i wouldn't say its a hell of a deal
it could be a 92 for all we know. and it has 170k miles.. i mean yah.. its a good car. but 170k miles. takes some wear on a v8
j
best of luck with it man.. hope you get it ..

If it's a 92 and the body and other componets are fine, yes it is a great deal. These cars would go for $5-8K normally. 170K mi. is nothing on 1UZ-FE. You should expect 300K mi. trouble free if it is maintained well. I've got 155K mi. on my car now and the engine sounds and performs better than most new cars today. If I didn't believe in this engine so much, I wouldn't be putting $5K+ into restoring my car right now (no money is going to mechanical repair other than tune-up, shocks, and bushings - everything else is paint and interior).

I am not worry about the mileage. 1UZ is a strong motor. Actually, the more the better. I will build the motor to turbo spec anyway, therefore, high mileage is a plus.

A p92 with only 170K !
Not even broken in yet!!
I've got more than double that on mine; still turns heads, draes comments, runs like new (especially with the Injen intake, 17", etc.)
Go for it!!
