The plastic battery surround sits in the rubber at the top of the trunk and holds it at the most open position.....is there a patent lawyer in the house?

I use a broken Driver golf club. Head broke off and its the perfect length to hold it up all the way. Also its carbon shafted so it's a lightweight mod. Can be seen on the side of this pic.

Pirate, that's inspired.

Since these cars were meant to take a golf bag (or two) in the trunk and two old men in the front, your "mod" is perfect.
