Default Stock radio issue

Ok i have searched and found very similar issue but nothing dead on and nothing that lead to a for shure answer on my issue.

I have a '93 sc3 all stock stock radio amp etc. when playing cd's in the factory 6 disk my volume work fine no issue but when on am/fm it does the low/no volume issue. I'm not thinking its the head unit cause it all works and such, and iffy on the amp seeing as it all works for bass mid trb when cds are playing. Is there anything else controlling any of this?

jamming the same 6 cds is getting old and i dont wanna get a fancy pants dual din... help plz???

I would lean toward your actual amp in the trunk under the mat, rather than the radio. They are known for complete and crazy issue failures. If you replace with double or single din, Metra has all the goodies now to include the wiring harness, and kit. Both for less than 40 bucks. PNP. Good luck
