Removing Front Door Panel and Power Window Mechanism
I need help removing the front door panel. I removed screws around the edges, but the panel remains attached around the door opening handle and the lock. There is a black plastic piece behind the handle; does it pop out somehow? Do I pry it off with a screwdriver? I don't want to trash it...
Any instructions for removing the panel? My front power window stopped going up, and it is now raining! I can hear the motor attempting to move the window, but no cigar.
Thanks for any advice or pictures...

Yes, take a screw driver or butter knife (something to that effect) and pry off the backwall behind the door opener. There is one big screw behind it. Just give it a little force. I just watched my mechanic do it yesterday.

Worked like a champ! The panel is off. Thanks!
Unfortunately, the power window mechanism still is not right. Apparently it is a cable affair, and I think the cable has slipped off the pulleys. I've only been able to see one pulley, at the bottom of the track. There probably is one up higher, but I can't see it.
Any words of wisdom or diagrams of the pulleys and how it works?
Thanks again.

Thank you for posting the diagram. It showed the pulleys and was very helpful to me.
Nonetheless, after a few hours of labor I was not making any progress. The upper pulley is located in an inaccessible place.
I ended up bringing the dissembled mess to a local repair shop, because I was afraid that I would get the routing wrong and damage the window motor.
They replaced the regulator cable mechanism. Just slipping it back on fixes nothing. Apparently they get a lot of these jobs; all these Toyota window mechanisms are vulnerable. Mostly it is the driver side that fatigues and must be replaced. The nice fellow who fixed it told me that you need to tweak the vertical support just right to get it in.
