Anyone found a way to brighten up color/luster of the OEM "wood"trim pieces?

If you wanna make it shinnier than things like a leather cleaner will do it. I tried pledge and that was ok but the leather cleaner made it the shinniest. Those leather cleaner and conditioner wipes by I forget which compay but they make waxes and soaps too for cars. Its comes in a black tube thing. I did it a couple times and it stays shinny and keeps it clean with no dust for a pretty long time but I didnt really like it. I like the normal finish on it.

I've had excellent results using Meguir's Paint Polish to get a shine, then a furniture polish like Pledge to protect it.

Default Polish

the only way is to polish them, im going to reclear mine and buff them to get that wet look,

Remove piece

wet sand with 2000 grit

polish with rubbing compound

polish with swirl remover or polishing compound

and thats it.

use 3M products.

I agree, I would never put stuff like that on the wood. There is no way to really shine up the wood...the wood is supposed to be duller.

I think re-staining the wood is the only real solution if it looks dull or milky. The milky effect is deep in the coating from what I have seen so far. I am looking into restaining myself and will let you know after I talk with William Rau.

i don't tihnk thats a good idea. my old piece of wood that i used to have chipped and you can see the paint is very thin. under the paint is metal. its not real wood. so i wouldn't recomend that

Default its cleared

its not real wood, you cant restain it since its not wood, it unbolts from the rear, it has a clear/shalaque,

today i have to remove my door panels, if i have time i might buff the fake wood trim out.

I wouldn't suggest wet sanding the piece of wood. You could try the 3m Swirl Mark remover I heard that worked.

And on the sc400's the wood is real. I think the sc300, its fake wood.
