Default spray paint?

In California we have to have front license plates and mine happens to be attached to a frame which is then attached to this black plastic which is then fitted to the bumper - this is so it mounts flush. I was wondering if I spray it with some white glossy model paint, will it hold up in a car wash? Do I have to seal it with some other paint or should I just do a bunch of coats? And does anyone know how much those chrome license plate frames cost at the dealer? Thanks.

Huh? What are you going to paint -- the plastic frame? You have a better chance at getting damage from rock chips, let alone worry about the car wash. If you prepare it properly and let it cure, the paint should be okay.

The chrome license plate frames cost upwards of $49.99 depending on style. You can get some better quality aftermarket frames for cheaper price.
