Default CD--TAILIGHT---emblems--SPOILER

the 92 tail is diff from the 95s, and the 00 has the best tails IMO

1) are all these tailights interchangeable? meaning did the 1991-2000 sc300 had no body changes, just bumper and light changes?

2) also my car has no cd player...should i get a factory cd changer..i am thinking it will be really expensive...any opinions/thoughts?

3) mine also doesnt have a spoiler....should i get an OEM one..or are their alternatives?

4) lastly..i want to remove the emblems on the back, except the "L"...does the other lettering have holes behind them? thanks

The tail lights are interchangeable, there are lots of people that have changed to 97+, you might want to take a look at 95/96 tail lights that have been cleared on the bottom, looks pretty good, look in the photo gallary. If you want a spoiler, you might want to consider getting a 97+ spoiler that isn't flush mounted. CD changers are really expensive from the dealer, if you can find one used it might be ok... but I would definately get an aftermarket cd player, with possibility of mp3s. The two that I would personally get is either the old clarion MAX2256 which is a double din cd/tape player with a 5" lcd that you can hook up a dvd unit too... and then a dvd player in the glove that you can play mp3s on too. The other one I would consider is the new Kenwood double din mp3 deck DPX-MP4030, which looks nice, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I know 'Lexus' emblem does have holes, some punk stole mine before. . I dunno about SC400/SC300 emblem.

I believe the 92 tails have an extra bulb and you will get an error on your dash about your tail lights (they'll still work). There is a fix for this but i'm not sure where exactly, you'll have to do a search. (going from 95-97 style is fine though). There is also a slight size difference between the tail lights from 92-96 and 97+ although you can still fit in the newer tail lights.

The SC400/SC300 emblem on the rear-center has a hole behind it.

As for spoilers, depends on what you are looking for. 92-96 spoilers were flush on the trunk, 97+ is more sportier (isn't flush) and then you have aftermarket companies like doluck and bomex. Don't get a cheap spoiler though, 1 guy I know went cheap and his was all wrinkly. I used to have a wings west 97+ spoiler (OEM style) and it was flawless (but i ended up selling it because i have the old 3 pronged spoiler and i would have had to do a lot of work).

There is a big thread beating this to death. Search. I have the spoiler from a 97 on my 92. Looks much better. As for the cd player, do not attempt unless you are replacing everything. It is wired up that way. The sub is 1 ohm, so you have to replace the sub and amp together.

Ryan, IMO, the 92 tails are the best looking, but get the yr. you want. they all fit.
As for the CD issue, I would talk to sportythief (doug) about what he has.
Emblems: all the rear emblems will leave holes.
spoiler: i would go for the 95 style. It not off the body and has the led in it.

I think everyone will have a different opinion on the tail lights. I would just take a look at some pictures of if you can in person at all teh different styles. I've seen the 3 different kinds and I think the 92-94 and 95/6 are probably the most appealing to me. I think the 97+ lights are alright. They're kinda flashy but I like the design of the other 2. I cleared my tail lights a while ago so heres some comparison of the 95 with and without them being cleared.

Personally the spoiler on the 92-96 are nice. Theyre subtle and just go with the lines of teh car. Its your choice tho. Just look at all the different styles and choose for yourself.

As for the emblems, ALL of them have holes behind them, even the L on the nose of the car. In order to get them removed and leave no holes, you'll have to find a body shop that's willing to fill the gaps and smooth over the paint. I've heard the whole car can be done for $100 at some places, but I guess it really depends on where you live. Here in central VA, the only people willing to do it are Bruce's Body Shop, and they want $200 PER PANEL.

are you guys sure about the holes in the back?
when I was thinkin about doing the soarer emblems, i checked the back of my SC300 emblems and there's nothing to be found when I put my hands on the inside of the trunk.
My car's '97 and i'm wondering if the hole in the SC300 has been removed for '97 when they had the redesign?
I never actually did go thru w/ the emblem exchange so I can not be 100%. I think I remember someone else w/ a '97 also said that there was no hole?
