rideskinz needs to buy a beater SC shell or something so they can continuously prototype parts they make.

i would be interested in the lenses only if they were around $350-ish with a group buy. $350-400 seems very reasonable for such a one off part.

i also think glass would look great but cost i could see is a very big problem with that and even production of such a glass mold with tabs.

Stamped plastic or injection molded? At the right price, I'm in.

Would be baller if they can make a glass lens since plastic lenses scratch easily and yellow over time.

We'll be getting with manufacturing sometime this week about costs and turnaround time on the lenses. They will most likely be made of either injection molded or vaccum formed Lexan or a similar durable material

(edit) that rear lip for example
Considering we started the interest thread for the rear lip at the end of June, had to get a donor vehicle which took a while, did the prototyping and test fitting and is currently on sale in a group buy, I would say that is pretty quick for a small company. The SC is not the only car we cater to, we also build SEMA cars and sell other custom parts for other makes

We're looking into making the lenses out of glass, but the cost of the molds may be a bit expensive for a low production part. You know of any beater SC shells out there? We've been looking and no luck

The light is way to big of a surface area for glass as 1 rock chip will shatter it I for 1 would rather have lexan than glass unless I had a show car that never got any street action.

I would definitely love to see these made out of glass as well. It might be possible to have two different options, but really if either version actually gets made I'll be happy!

It's looking like the final pricing will be cheaper than how much SuperMades used to cost new, and they should be a better quality as well. These are FULL replacement lenses just like the SuperMades were, there is no cutting involved. All you do is take the factory lens off, and put the new one on.

I'd say RideSkinz does an excellent job with turn around-- As well, atleast they get parts made to begin with! I think the biggest hang up on that rear lip was finding 2 SC's for test fitament, and of course just like any professional shop they have alot of other business going on. Respect noted I'm sure!

If you get Ebay lights you'll have to cut the whole outer edges down, and probably compromise the seal as I've read happens. It's looking like these will come in at a very decent price if we can get enough interest. Possibly even glass if everything goes really well.

I'm actually finding that info out right now- Either him or I will post up with the Lexan/Glass feasibility info asap.
