In the market for New Tires, what do you all suggest?
Its time to get new tires for my SC400. Front ones are bald and one of the rear ones is all jacked up. So im pulling the trigger and getting new tires, Size I need are 225 55 16. What do you guys suggest I look into, I don't know too much about tires and brands, I mean I can spot cheap ones but I am no tire expert, Im looking for something good, not too expensive but nothing top of the line.

^ I had some Goodyear Eagles on my car, rode like crap, but they were 8 years old and the car wasn't driven much, so they might have flat spotted. I've never had good luck with goodyears, had them on two other cars and hated them.
I just put on a set of low profile 18" Pirelli P-Zero Nero on my SC300. They are so SMOOTH on the highway, and ride awesome, especially considering the short 35 series sidewall. They are louder than the stock 15" Goodyears, but that's to be expected running a 255/35/18 size tire. Make sure you get the all season spec tire if you want that smooth ride and forgiving sidewall, as Pirelli makes A LOT of various summer compound tires with stiffer sidewalls, noiser tread, and a lot more grip.

i had some nitto neo gens on my old integra and loved them, not much road noise and tons of grip. that car made 400whp and i could launch it at 5k no problems.
I have some high performance good years on my car now, not much road noise and good grip, cant contest to the handling and ride since my struts are blown.

I YOU ARE NOT TRACKING AND JUST DAILY DRIVING
Federal 595 SS!!! You will not be dissapointed! You will not know a difference!!!
Ifyou track or drive like a maniac maybe some nicer tires but Federal 595 SS belive it or not are up to par with all the known brands!
I have had so many tires already and tried this and that and goen through A LOT OF BRANDS AND MODELS!
one thing I learned is that They are all identical the same thing unless you make them perform! Meaning like you track them!
if your regular st driving. i swear you wont notice a difference!
Only difference is how much cash you pull out of your wallet!

O YEAH! lol also look at the UTQG aka the tread wear count!
the lower the number the stickier they are!
for example Hankook Ventus EVO V12 is 300AA or 330AA I belive
and Federal SS 595 is 200AA or 240AA ,
The Federal being like 80 bucks vs the Ventus EVO V12 being like 150 each or so
The Federal is actually stickier believe it or not!
Call the tire pros! like onlinetires.com
and they will tell you! and i've tested and its the same thing! =)
last but not least! www.onlinetires.com
cheapest to order and local pick up! sometimes even shipped!
and www.discounttiresdirect.com cheapest shipped!!!
its cheaper to buy from them ship it to your door take them to get installed at tire shop then to drive tire shop and buy and install!

For stock rims just get the ones that last the longest (all season). The higher the number the longer they last. Check tire rack and read the reviews and other info there so you can gain more knowledge about tires. Good luck

Right On!!! Asterisk
Like I said Before Clean400 IDK HOW HARD YOU PUSH THE CORNERS AROUND A INTERSECTION
But the only wa you start noticing the difference between a Achillies to a lets see Hankook Ventus EVO V12 is after the 15th time maybe around a corner doing like 80mph
You dont get the full potential of stickiness of a tire until it's wormed up!
And think about it realistically where in the hell can you crank the wheel and floor it pretty much on the streets? lol
No where safely anyway! lol Not around where I live! =)
Either way though it's up to you in the end and whatever makes you happy is most important but My recommandation for you is save your money if you can! =)
who doesn't like extra $$$ in their pockets especially these days lol
