I was told today that the 00 SC had a slightly different shape around the fog light area than the 97-99 so can anybody confirm this for 100% confirmation?

There is no reason Toyota would change the front bumper for only one and its final year of first gen SC production.

If there was a difference, imagine the hype that it would bring. "Oh man, dump those '97-'99 front bumpers and get a 2000."

The reason I ask is the tech I was talking with who works for Lexus thought there was a slight variation on the 2000 year only to which I replied I was almost sure there was no difference so next step is to confirm this at the parts dept to see if there may have been a part # change from 97-00 but this guy swears there was however I was not 100% sure.

He has been working for Lexus 22 years so this is what made me second guess my self.

maybe he's referring to the difference between the 92-94 bumpers vs the 95-96.

there is a slight difference in the grill and the fog/cornering lights

Well he drives a 98 sc400 so I would tink he knows the year cut off and he came running up to my car (97sc400) To talk to me about it and seemed to know his stuff as he knew all about my RSP sc400 and how many were made etc etc
But who knows

I know a long time Lexus Tech who "knew for a fact that there were no 2000 SC's" while standing in front of mine. Even after pointing out the registration said 2000. They don't know everything.

Yes agreed however I thought by some off chance he was right I wanted to know for sure
Also since he had an SC I thought it was worth checking in to as it added some credibility to his thought, Good to know I was right! Lol

Absolutely no difference in the bumpers from 97-2000. Same part numbers.
