Question Removing wood trim

I am attempting to remove the wood trim above the glove box in order to remove the center trim assembly. I have removed the glove box and door latch. I have also removed the four star nuts that seem to attach the wood trim. The wood trim is loose, but it is still somehow clipped under the airbag door. I am relectant to pry under the airbag door to remove the wood trim.

How do I get the trim loose from under the airbag door?

Looking at the manual, it might be easier to just remove the airbag first. Disconnect the battery then the connector for the airbag above the glove compartment. (usually yellow) The airbag is attached by 3 bolts & 2 nuts, remove the airbag face up and store face up = always. Reassemble @ 15lbs of torque. Hope this helps!
