Actually 98+ are the SC's with VVT-i and gated shifter, 97 is the year the new kit and lights came in, so 97 SC's are only better than 92-96 through the kit and lights (everything else is the same). All SC300 automatics came with 4 speed automatic, only 98+ SC400s came with 5 speed automatic.
