Did this almost a year ago, still holding up pretty good. Not bad for $5 (used a whole can) mod and for something you can take off anytime you feel like it with out much effort.

I picked up some black plastidipped wheels from a buddy and they look great other then the fact that I hate black rims. One piece of advise to throw out there, make sure to lay down for than 3 coats of the paint. My buddy only used two coats and I spent two hours trying to peel this **** off before I decided to give up until I can find an easier way to get it off. For now, I'm rocking two rims with half peeled plastidip on the, hahah

On multispoke designed wheels, it's pretty easy. If you have a huge flat surface, lets say on a VIP Euroline style wheel...it's not that easy. I've spray painted many things in my day, and plasti-dip doesn't come out very even on large surfaces using a can.

I'll show you an example of what I did. I sprayed my wheels with plastidip and hated the look because of the uneveness. So I peeled it all off and started from scratch. I decided to wrap each wheel with 3M Matte black vinyl, mask the face, then sprayed just the lips with plastidip. I think it came out well and changed the entire design of my wheels. And as others mentioned, once you're bored, you can just peel it off and try something else.

But after three years, I'm completely bored with the wheels. You can find them in the FS section now for a great price

Not a big fan of the Plasti-dip look, plus its so easy to peel away once your get at it or scratch it off, i think the sand, fill, sand, prime, paint, (gloss or flat black) and/or clear coat is the best way to go and looks alot cleaner

Am I the only one who thinks spray-bombed/plasti-dipped black wheels look awful? It just looks cheap and makes the entire car look cheap
