Default SC300 - locate & inspect ECU?

I searched for instructions to locate and inspect the SC300 ECU caps, but could not find.

Can someone help with that, please?

Ecu is located on your passenger side under the carpet near the firewall. Open up Ecu cover and look inside for any leaking capacitors.

I noticed you are in TX. I'm in the DFW area. You?

Have you removed the ECU?

I removed what I believe to be the ECU - a 7.5"X 7.5" metal box labeled ENGINE CONTROL. I removed the covers and inspected the boards without seeing any bad caps. I replaced bad caps on other boards before, so I have a good idea of what to look for.

The reason I inspected the ECU is because the engine suddenly began to run very rough while emitting a lot of gray/white smoke from both exhaust pipes. The CHECK ENGINE warning illuminates, then the engine turns-off.
