Default Speaker Question

I was wondering if the door speakers in a 95 sc400 are the same as the ones in the rear deck if you take them out of the mounts. Just the speakers themselves.thanks John

They are the same size/ohms, as the rears and should be compatible. Although I would suggest getting new quality speakers that will last, for the Sc.

I would just upgrade to 6 1/2 in the front and 6x9 in rear. JMO.. To answer your question, they are the same if taking out of the grille/holder.

Default speakers

I put new 61/2 inch kickers in the rear deck and a few months later my amp went bad. I was told it may be becuase of the aftermarket speakers. So I was going to go back to the stock ones.

Have you located/looked at the amp for any water/rust around the area? This may have caused the amp to fail and not the 6" 1/2 speakers.

Booramey, went back to your OP (new stereo problem) were you mention the speakers are making a thumping sound. Try this test turn the TREB **** down/BASS **** up and viceversa also use the FADE/MID ***** in trying to locate the area the thumping is coming. It could be your subwoofer has blown causing the thumping you're hearing?

i installed 5,25 inch Speakers front and rear, with some little mods was this no problem. My first idea was also 6 1/2" to install, but the are too much mods for install and you need for the rear flat speakers and in front a complete new housing and a modified door panel. This is not a 15min action

rear:

front:
