bump stops.
Do you need to cut the bump stops when lowering the SC400? If so, by how much for a 1.00 inch drop or 1.5 inch drop. Can you just remove them safely? Are there 4 of them or 2? I don't remember seeing them on the rear.
Is there any way of cutting them while still on the car?

Anyone know the answer to any of the questions here?
I'm hitting my bump stops after installing my springs. I have to either get smaller bump stops or cut them. I need to fix this ASAP so any help would be appreciated.

Consult the spring manufacturer... many spring companies recommend cutting 1/2" to 1" off of the OE bump stop- basically one of the 'bumps' that shape the bump stop.
I'm afraid you'll need to tear the suspension out to cut them- in the past, I have cut bump stops with a razor knife while the suspension was apart. If you try this with the suspension assembled, you will likely scratch the shock cylinder- not good.
If you've cut the OE springs, all bets are off- it's on you to figure it out by trial & error.

Thanks, that helps.
It's a pain to tear out the front suspension because you need to take apart the upper conrtol arm. Took me awhile to figure that out. The rear is a breeze.
I guess i'll have to do it. Its better than damaging tokicos.
I've got espelir springs. They're way lower than eibachs. I guess people with eibach's don't need to cut the bump stops.
Anyone know if the rear has bump stops too? I don't remember seeing them. The front has them for sure.
