Got another '99! :D
Kind of a long story, I'll try to keep it short.
Few weeks ago member 'bcsc400' emailed me that he unfortunately wrote-off (totalled) his '99 SC400 with only 70k!. My family owns a small used-car dealership so we have access to insurance auctions. Last week I purchased his car and it was delivered to me today (the car was coming from the island).
For those of you who dont know, Paul (bcsc400) is a very valuable contributing member to the forum. He put endless amount of time, money, research and development into creating an exhaust for SC400's which does not hinder the SC's performance at any point in the power-band and rpm range. He has dyno-sheets to prove it. His (along with the other members who helped) exhaust framework has been used by a number of SC and GS member with great results.
And now I am lucky enough to reap the benefits of his hard work! I know Paul is happy that all that hard work is going to someone who will appreciate his SC and take care of it as meticulously as I've taken care of all my past SC's.
Anyways, onto the damage. The insurance auction photo's did not show the undercarriage of the car, so I was purchasing this car with the possibly of buying a money-pit. All that was visible was some quater-panel damage, and a bent rear wheel. Knowing that the car has coilovers and an LSD I was thinking this could be a costly repair..
I got the car onto a hoist today and I lucked out again. The only damage appeared to be a broken upper control-arm, and slightly bent control-rod! The coilover seems to have been damaged as well, but it doesn't seem that it will affect its functionality.
I will be replacing the control-arm tomorrow (I am aware of the 'Rear Upper Control arm helpful hint' thread) and take the car for a spin. Only then will I be able to determine if anything further was damaged and needs to be replaced.
I do have some questions before I proceed though. As far as I know, the upper-control arms for all year SC's are the same, 92-00. Is that correct?
And, this is the first time I've owned a car with coilovers. Judging by the pics, do you guys think it will need to be replaced? Does it look like the height adjustability will be affected? As I mentioned, from what I can tell, it looks okay except for some surface damage.

Plans for right now are to get it drivable. Maybe later I'll look into some bigger rims.
Supra TT differential with 3.76 gear ratio
Lordco sells supra arms for $330 each. Can anyone point me to a better deal? I need them ASAP I want to install them today.

check with the toyota dealer, but they just might be expensive.
If they are expensive I would just get a used set off here or SF much less expensive for the whole set and put poly bushes in them and enjoy. won't be able to get that done today though obviously but might be a better option.

Got the car on its feet today, all it took was the control arm! The things a BEAST! Feels twice as fast as my other stock '99!
Just gotta get the bodywork and alignment done this week, then I'll be able to take it in for inspection before I'm able to register it.

By the way, I'll definitely be looking for a different set of rims. Might just go conservative and get TT's. But can anyone tell me what typa of BBS rims these 17's are? Any idea of a price I should set them at? I think I'll put them up in an Acura forum where there will be better interest..
