Default Why is warm air blowing when my a/c is off?

I turn off the a/c and I get warm air blowing on my legs with pretty decent force. It's also coming through the vents but not as forceful. I end up running my a/c just to stop warm air from coming in. The air reminds me of the ECON feature on 80's cars that vented in outside air.

The air also smells unfiltered like its coming from the engine somewhat. Any thoughts?

Turn the temp gauge to the coldest setting. And at the top of the HVAC, put it to where the light indicates that it's on recirculate mode. See if this helps.

And then turn off the a/c I assume ? I'll try that. Gives me a reason to sneak a ride!

It's working properly. Once the heater core is warm and air is allowed to flow, that's what you get. In fresh air mode, thats free flow.

Yeah O.L.T, but I have noticed with my SC that even though it is free flowing air, if you adjust the temp **** to cold or hot, the free flowing air will be either of those respectively.

AT OP. You could try it first with the air just off...then if that does not work you can try turning it on and then off.

....and what happens when we turn it to cold? Aside of the heater core being cut off....... think flappers and air control redirection.....
