I have a blank ebay key if you'd like (pm for details). My dealership said they'd cut it for about $20 or so. Or go to sewell for oem.

you think thats bad try going to 2 different lexus dealers in the same city. more often than not for those random services the price will be all over the place. Toyota is generally most consistent, but not sure they can cut those keys. that would be nice if they could now if some newer model has a similar kind of key.

your average locksmith may not have the machine to do it either, but if you call around enough some of them can cut these keys and would be a good alternative to the dealer.

^ My local toyota dealer said he doesnt have the machine for internal cut (I think that's what it's called) as toyotas dont use this kind of keys. He said he could give me a blank and I take it to lexus, but that's all. A specialized locksmith can make a copy but not via VIN.

Think i'm just gonna go with sewell. I talked to a coworker cuz his wife works at lexus and they were going to give it to me for 160 at a discounted price but it would still be cheaper with sewell.

Thanks guys you guys are great, i had no idea you could do this stuff.
The only thing that sucks is that i'm going to get this parking ticket tomorrow, oh well gna have to suck it up.

Losing my keys is one of my worst fears! I hope you get it all sorted out. You should go with the VIN cut at Sewell. They're great to work with

So i just got my key. I got it at sewell. My main fear was that the previous owner swapped out the door or the ignition cylinder and so the key wouldn't work. This SC is a REAL project haha and has so much work so i knew it was a possibility. Luckily it opened my door and now i got a key. Thanks guys for all your help
