Anyone have problems with the driver's side seat belt retractor getting weak with age? Mine needs a little manual assist now and then to get it into the fully retracted position when I get out of the car. The unit appears to be sealed so access to the spring assembly could be difficult.

Yey, your not alone. I remember reading about the earlier sc400 & ls400 had weak seat belt retractors. With the new models out you need to be careful because if not fully awake it will take your head off while retracting, i guess they fixed the problem.

I have a 99 and it’s weak too! I’ve pulled the belt out as far as possible and sprayed it with silicone this helps for a while.
