The numbers are on a thread somewhere a while back. I just wonder how many black Sc's with a stick are out there. I know I got a rare one. A 97 SC3 with a stick is REALLY hard to find.

When I bought my SC in '96, the salescreature told me that Lexus only made 12,000 SCs that year (didn't break down the 300/400 mix), and that only 1% (1,200) of those came with the 5spd. This is just from a salescreature's mouth so take it for what it's worth ;-)

If I can remember way back it was around 8000 SC400s a year until the very late nineties when the SC400 production was cut in half. I guess the remaining 4000 were SC300s.

With that in mind that would mean that with 300 million people in the US, only about 1 in 2500 people could own one. And we have lost many over the years to neglect and accidents.

Wmulli,

Not that I'm a math teacher or anything like that, but 1% of 12,000 is 120 units, not 1,200. So, I guess that means if you
have a SC with a manual tranny, its even harder to find.

guys guys guys, this has been discussed many times...
and here's the stats:

http://www.jkwebdesign.co.uk/lexuscl...tiontables.htm

Note that take '97 5spd for example, the chart shows only about 3000 in production SC300 that year and say about 5-10% are manuals, do the math
