I pulled that bulb out of my gauge cluster a long, long time ago. No need for it, especially when it can't even function to alert you of a dead bulb anymore. As far as warning indicators go, this one is fairly insignificant anyway. I can just check my tail lights myself once a month. Better than driving around with that annoying orange light taunting you 24/7 when nothing is wrong at all!

I have the '94 tails on my '92 V8 Soarer (i'm in Australia), and i got around the taillight warning message (and the ultra-fast blinkers) by simply wiring some resisters in series with the wiring. I cant see how someone could charge $200 for something that cost me AUD$10 (US$5?), but i'd be happy to accept that kind of money if any Aussies need help
I also saw a Japanese site that used a much simpler (and cheaper) approach. He simply wired an extra bulb holder in line with the brake lights; then a normal brake light goes in the holder, and it is held to a bracket under the boot trim with a cable tie. Simple...
Oh, and i also have the '97 front on my Soarer, with crystal clear (brand new) headlights & high beams

People who have done this conversion in Texas, where did you find the prices for the 97+ upgrade, I've searched Sewell and Park Place and they both want 380 to 390 for the front bumper, which is supposed to be list 315.64, are these similar to the prices anyone paid for the front bumper? I thought list was supposed to be more than retail price... Thanks - Richard

How are the rocker panel side skirts held in place at the bottom? The uppers (sides) are push in clips, but the bottom holes on the skirts are huge. The bottom holes on the body of the 92 are covered w/rubber plugs and there are no "screw holes" to hold the skirts. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

AOK on the data, except I must have missed the info on the trunklid spoiler. I acquired one on Ebay, only to find out that the body shops I went to got worried over the workmanship (liability for defective work down the road..) required in filling the old spoilers mounting holes. I would like to fill them in myself and cut $300 out of a $450 bill to fit it on my sc400 ( painting it and the now exposed area of my trunk lid..). Any thoughts ?

97 conversion
Hey Din,
I have a 1996 sc300, i was wondering if all 4 headlights (inner, outer)were the exact same for the 1997 model? I am planning to do the conversion also.

Supposedly also 97+ low beams that were manufactured after a certain date have a different projector lens. What I mean is that a stock 97 headlight lens is different then a replacement purchased post whatever the date is. There was a thread that talked about it.
