Default Anyone painted their antenna tip?

Well today I was looking at the SC and thought to myself, something doesn't look right. It was the power antenna tip being in chrome and all my emblems are black with VHT. I sanded it down with 600 grit and tried the VHT paint, well it was a no go. I used Goof Off and removed it all off. I then re sanded it, and sprayed it again with SEM black landau paint. The results were night and day. I believe the trick was sanding it down so the SEM would adhere to the chrome. I did light coats and ended up spraying five to six coats. Mission accomplished. The little DIY always add a nice complete look that most people wouldn't even notice. If anyone is interested I will post up pictures tomorrow of the final look.

I know many of you have deleted the antenna or used the Acura MDX one or the S2000, but I like the look of the factory beside the color. If my emblems were chrome I would have left the tip alone.

I did it on my other car.

Didn't have to sand it down. I just applied 3 coats of the touch up paint and is holding quite well.

If you guys need pictures, let me know.

looks good , but I dont think SEM will stand up to the elements over time, at least it will be easy to touch up though if that happen.

That looks great man. My antenna is gold but it would look so much better if it was black like yours.

Thanks man. Start sanding and spray that thing.

I used a old bed sheet, cut a small hole in the middle and taped around it. The sheet helped keep the overspray down to none.
