I have a 93' SC300 with a factory alarm. I've noticed on almost all other lexus alarms, when activated or deactivated, the lights blink and a audible chirp is heard. However I get nothing other than the sound of the doors unlocking. Is this just an option left off my car? I doubt it, but is there an option to change somewhere that makes the lights blink or sound chirp? Anyone else have this problem? Any help appreciated.

I've got a 92 400, and mine's the same, silent. Anything else would be aftermarket or newer I suppose. But try this, roll your window down and lock your car, then reach in and open the door from the inside... wont be so silent anymore

I've actually already trying that a while ago. I wanted to see if the red light on the dash was really an alarm or just a neat red light to "thwart" off criminals. It was damn loud after opening the door.

I believe the audiable lock and unlock was added from 95 and after.

When purchasing a used car with an aftermarket alarm system, is it possible to reproduce the beeper key? I picked up a used SC300 but it only came with one set of keys. I can get a backup key from the Lexus dealer, but I'll need an extra beeper for the alarm.

Can this be done???
